Software is a term used for organised collection of computer data and instructions.It is responsible for controlling,integrating, and, managing the hardware components of a computer.Software tells the computer that what to do and how to do.As you know computer cannot do anything without instructions from the user.In order to any specific job you have to give a specific job you have to give a sequence of instructions to the computer.This set of instruction is called a computer program. Software refers to the set of computer programs,procedure that describe the programs,how they are to be use.We can say that it is the collection of programs,which increase the capabilities of the hardware.Software guides the computer at every step where to start and where to stop during a particular job.The process of software development is called as programming.

Relationship between Hardware and Software


Hardware and Software are mutually dependent.Both of them must work together in order to make computer produce some useful output.Software cannot be utilized without supporting hardware.To get particular job done on the computer,a relevant software should be loaded into the hardware.A software acts as an interface between user and hardware.It helps the user to interact with the particular hardware component.
