The World Wide Web is a system of internet servers that supports hypertext to access several Internet Protocols on a single interface.The World Wide Web is often abbreviated as the web or WWW.
  The World Wide Web was developed in 1989 by Tim Berners-Lee of the European Particle Physics Lab(CERN) in Switzerland.The initial purpose of the web was to use networked hypertext facilitate communication among its members,who were located in several countries.
  The World Wide Web is a collection of electronic documents linked together like a spider web.These documents are stored on computers called servers located around the world.
"It is a mechanism that links together information stored on many computers."
World Wide Web is a newest internet service.It has accelerated the growth of the internet by giving it an easy to use,also it uses point and click graphical interface.The web evolved into a global electronic publishing medium and a medium for conducting electronic commerce.The web consists of :

3.A connection to an Internet Service Provider(ISP)
4.Servers to host the data
5.Routers and switches to direct the flow of data

The following are the various steps which explain the working of web:-
1.Web pages are stored on web servers located around the globe.
2.Entering the Uniform Resource Locator or URL of a web page in your browser or clicking a link sends a request to the server that hosts the page.
3.The server transmits the web page data to your computer and your web browser displays it on your screen.
